First day in Venizia, Italy

This sinking city
Captivates me
I'm breathless
And blown away
As locals kiss
Cheek to cheek
I melt
And my amazement
Leaves me
Like a mouse in a maze
I turn left
I turn right
I laugh out loud
As men in stripes
And straw brim hats
Scream out
"Ciao Bella!"
And I blush
And smile
Replaying
"Bonjourno Senore'!"
With each corner
And every canal
Imprints are left
Embroidered on my soul
I have dreamt
Of these streets
These sights
This smell
And today
Alone
Alive
And in Love
I have arrived
"Non-Fiction"

Imagine my dismay
"Actions speak louder than words" he says
As the ink runs from my bloodshot eyes
My cheeks and fingertips
Stained with passion
Guilty of expression
No longer hesitant
The truth spills out
Pen to paper
Making love at each line
Words escape
Dance on their page
Romancing one another
I know what I am
I'm the poet
The creator
The scribe
Releasing the insides of me
For the reader to revel
In me
With me
To seek
And find
The underlined meaning
I cannot give more than this
Let your eyes embrace my intention
Til' I'm able to wrap my limbs around you
Get lost in my rhythm
Try to find sanctity in the scripture that is me
Reiterating
All I have
Are these complex phrases
To capture
And captivate
The currency my words are worth
This
Is
My Love
For you
I will write the great American novel
Actions may be loud
But my words
Cannot write themselves
The depth of me
Poignant and priceless
The intensity
Posted
Straight from my heart
To this page
You cannot trust all that you can read
But you can believe
And I say
Believe in me

"You"

Awe
So it seems
I'm missing you
Your mind
Your mouth
Your laughter
At my madness
My heart aches
To be
Beneath your stare
That tears
Straight through me
My memories deceive me
And leave me
Longing
And lonely
All consuming you
Too soon
For you to see
This is it
You have
Finally
Captivated
Me
All the while
We've been here
Waiting
Me always wanting
What I should have wanted not
Disillusioned
And now concluded
Happiness
Is in your name
Your face
Your hands
Your heart
My soul
Consumed
By the wonderful reality
You
