Ghost

She falls asleep
beside some vague
reminder
Some ancient past
she has once again
unearthed
A life once led
yet forgotten
Smelling the familiar skin
she skims the surface of a lie she left behind
Walking upon eggshells
in hopes to not disturb the hopeless
All the while
replaying anthems long overdue
and out of tune

I find myself naked
alone
and frozen
Praying for forgiveness
Pleading with a disease
The right
is not mine
or yours
                          Neither is the wrong
Yet our will:
mine to weep
yours too strong
Painfully we remain mistaken
aimlessly ashamed

When
did the dreaming dieā€¦
