The Sum is Greater Than a Mere Fraction

If only I knew then
What I know now
The tiresome circles
Never existing
The questions
And complications
Null and Void
No sense of
False security
No denying what already
Is
Or was
Or was it?
Truth be told
My actions spoke louder
Than my precious
Outspoken words
The cost?
Your heart
My muddled mind
Pawned you like a token trophy
Now I stand before you
Brutally honest
Bold
But alone
Trying to bring you back
To give your heart the home
I never cared
To share
We live somewhere
In between
Truth
And fiction
I want
The fantasy
To blend
Into real
My maddened heart and mind
Has never been so certain
I refuse
To hit and miss
My beautiful
Muted muse
I’d rather die trying
Then let this battle be lost
In spite of it all
I can no longer hide behind fear
If in fact your walls refuse to crumble
At the least
I’ll know
I sacrificed
Everything
For I feel
Without you
I am smaller
Than what we amount to
Together
